This year 25 is turning out to be filled with fun times!
I started the year off by flying to Phoenix in January with Bev and Vivienne from my Isagenix team, to attend the New Year Kick-Off event extravaganza! This is the Isagenix company’s 10th year and already major records are being broken with sales successes and health goals being exceeded. I am so please I have decided to take their products forever! I have never felt so good! Join me!
Then my time at the February Earlybird RV Show was the best ever! Some of my highlights included watching younger men comfortably fill out the draw forms for the snowman knitted doll! This was a first. Usually gents get their wives to do it while they hold back! Lots of today’s younger men are so liberated! I find that exciting.
Speaking of liberated men: Congratulations to Terry Moran of Surrey who won the snowmen doll! Kelly from the Beachwood booth pulled your name and I hope the doll gives you as much joy as it did to me while I was knitting it!
Reader feedback included one gal strongly suggesting she be able to renew her RV Times subscription online, rather than go to the post office to buy one stamp and one envelope to mail in the form! Well, I got my webmaster to make that possible on the www.rvtimes.ca site – it was easily done, he said!
I also finally learned what a QR Code is for and how to make it work on my own cellphone – have to thank Aaron from the Beachwood Resort booth for that lesson! I was Delighted and now have a QR Code on my own front cover for all to scan and go directly to the RVT website!
A gent at the Show asked me to find someone who would create an RVing comic strip or strips! John McDonald, our Embers cartoonist, agreed to give it a try and you can see his first strip below! Whatcha think of it?
Another gent totally surprised me. Walter said “I have a gift for you Sheila.” Then he handed me a major $ bill! “What’s this for?” I asked. He said he appreciated me coming over from the Island to the Shows and wanted to help pay my expenses! Well, I was so flabbergasted I asked him if the bill was actually real! “No, I made it in my basement last night” he said! Then quickly: “Of course it’s real!” I apologized to him for being ungracious and was able to give him a nice hug! I asked him what he did and he said he rents vans to European tourists who come over here to vacation. His company name is Travel BC Van Rentals and Sales on Marine Drive in Vancouver.
That Show was so much fun, I can hardly wait for the next two coming up this spring. Next is the Chilliwack Humdinger Show on April 19-22 (right before I go to press with RVT 147!), followed by the first ever BC Interior RV Show on May 4-6 weekend in Penticton BC. Check out their ads on page 8 and 15 for details, including new daily closing times. I’ll have two dolls in the one draw at the Humdinger Show: a boy doll called Edward and a girl doll called Arabella. Cuter than cute.
A sitting clown doll for the Penticton Interior Show is in the works. It will be ideal for kids as he is filled with just stuffing, no feet supports.
My friend Hazel from Mission bought an RV last June after the RV Owners Lifestyle Seminars we went to in Kelowna. She came by my booth at the Earlybird RV Show and suggested we go back this June 22-25 to attend the 2012 event, staying in the parking lot with everyone else in her RV this time! Now that WILL be great fun as that event ROCKS! Check out the Letters and info on page 12 and join in the fun!
I hope your Springtime is sunny and warm and your RVing plans include some new fun places and events this year. Be courageous, then write us what happened!
