T?is just before Christmas not a snowflake in sight

And no kind of praying will make it turn white

No chimney for Santa in the Rigs or RV?s

And baubles and lights are hung on Palm Trees

Santa is wearing his t-shirt and shorts

And instead of hockey, its pool time for sports

It?s hard to believe that it?s that time of year

When thoughts of family will cause us to tear

Now we really don`t mind all of this sun

Or spending our days just having fun

Most of the time we are good with this life

It?s very relaxing without trouble or strife

But just for a moment sometimes we yearn

For a place where one has a Yule log to burn

Where the days are spent with marshmallows to roast

And friends drop by to share in a toast

We think of the days when we had a big tree

And went to the Mall for the big shopping spree

We think of the hours spent making shortbread

And being exhausted when we fell into bed

We think of the parties with all of our friends

The hangovers we suffered due to these trends

Those were the days we say to each other

Spent celebrating the season with sister and brother

Remember the times when we ate too much food

And complained about dealing with folks who where rude

That?s not for us, we?re better off here

California wines are cheap and full of good cheer

Floating around in the pool, a warm Christmas Day

Getting toasty and brown ? that is the way

But we want you to know over the years we have found

That all of this fun is not as good as it sounds

On Christmas Day we think of those dear

Our family and friends, at this time of year

We miss you, we love you, and wish we were there

We want you to know that we really do care
