I just want to tell you our experience with our 2003 Jayco Quest 5th wheel in the hope that other owners of a Jayco won't have the same thing happen to them. Yes, age discrimination, not toward my wife and I but toward our Class C RV at a RV campground in B.C. While planning our August 2012 RV trip in B.C., phoned one privately operated RV campground, which shall remain nameless and was told my Class C 1995 Corsair Aristrocrat was too old, not meeting their 1999 limit. Hi. We have a new trailer. It is a toy hauler, bumper hitch. The dealer we got it from said we did'nt need to upgrade to the new rv licensing, because it was a bumper hitch trailer. Dont fall for this, they are not correct. We contacted Tim at drivesaferv.com and he told us any trailer over 4600kg you had to upgrade. I would like to clear up some misconceptions about the need to obtain a special endorsement if you tow a trailer that weighs over 4600kg. The actual trailer weight with all of your items that you intend to carry (including water in the holding tank, propane etc) as it sits on your driveway and not connected to your tow vehicle is the basis for your need or not to hold the special endorsement. My 2004 Chevy Duramax 2500HD 4wd, crew cab, long bed pickup pulls an Arctic Fox 27T trailer. But I would like to take one or two motorcycles on our travels. However, for the life of me I cannot find an ‘ultra’ tall fiberglass topper for my truck. A.R.E. and other manufactures have some possibilities but they are designed for later model trucks. Last summer I purchased an 89 Okanagan 29ft 5th wheel trailer. The seller informed me that there had been some water leakage inside, due to snow pack around the vents, melting into the RV. In September, I resealed all the windows with Sil-flex silicone, and resealed every seam, vent and bolt hole on the roof of the RV. I believe this unit is water-tight.
