Santa was very good to us ? hope he was to you as well.
Plus we?re at the end of our 25th Year of Fulltime Travels and still counting
Hi Guys: WOW I can not believe that Christmas can get better every year. I am a Christmas Junkie who loves all the trappings of this holiday season. It begins with my extensive decorating and continues to gifts Christmas morning. Guess the kid in me has never grown up. I have even taught John how to wrap and add ribbon to my gifts that he personally shops for. He has learned his lessons well. As most of you know I am constantly fighting weight so this year for my big gift Santa added a vacuum style stepper to the mix. In a motorhome I have no room for a treadmill so this seems to be the best I can do at this point. Making time to visit the park exercise rooms just never seems to fit my schedule. At 10 AM on the 25th we went up to the hall to decorate our dining table. My many Christmas dolls that adorn my dash as well as my tree were transported to add such a festive touch to the table. I will get the pictures up eventually. ![]()
Our Christmas Dinner meal was decadent ? of course I ate too much one more time. In this park at Christmas the host/hostess cook the meat that table mates decide on ? our group decided on turkey over the usual ham. As a result instead of working I decided taking a nap yesterday afternoon – more enjoyable option. Today is a new day and hopefully I am back on track for a bit. ![]()
Next big event this week is the EXPLORER RV CLUB Luncheon at Luby?s in Weslaco on Wed 29th. Just as a reminder we meet at 11:00 for lunch at 11:30 to get ahead of their normal customer crowds. There is still time to let me know if you can join us. We have no restriction of space at Luby’s, but both the restaurant plus John & I would like to know how many to expect. Hopefully we can touch base with many Valley members and their guests who can join us. ![]()
Much of this week I have been searching for past handouts of my seminars. As I relayed previously I am presenting two seminars for the FMCA ? one on Pack & Go plus one on RV Travel to CDA. I find it so much easier to edit previous files than to write new ones. But at times I wonder why I save anything ? it is never where I think it is when I want to find it. Thankfully they eventually showed up so I am somewhat caught up ? to a small point that is. By the way, FMCA (Family Motorhome Club Association) has opened their doors at their March convention in Perry, Georgia to ALL RVers. Perry is a fantastic venue and FMCA put on a super show. Name entertainment, extensive seminar line-up, a wide selection of RV?s to explore plus a ?Toy? store to die for are only some of the many activities that will keep you occupied for each day of this gathering. Members can park in the same spot with their non-member friends in any type of RV – so the FMCA Convention in Perry makes a perfect meeting place. Full details go to http://www.fmca.com/conventions/perry-2011 See ya there??? ![]()
I added some new photos at http://picasaweb.google.com/rv.lifetstyle.consultants ? more will be coming soonest. ![]()

EVENTS LAST WEEK
SUNDAY was clean up day ? by the way I only clean house when we have company coming. MONDAY at the Park meeting Bev the Activity Director awarded prizes for decorations ? winners were voted by park members and since I am the new kid on the block I was not expecting much. There was a cash prize for 3rd to 1st for each Mobile Homes and Park Models/RVs. With Bev?s intro of ?We all know who won first prize? our site was chosen. I was somewhat surprised but appreciated their $50. cash prize. Monday was also our annual Christmas Happy Hour so my time was in the kitchen ? no shopping opportunity that day. Attendees at our HH were a wide selection of Cdn RVers wintering in our park and neighbouring ones. Sixteen RVers from BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario joined us on our vast patio. Thankfully the temps were warm and wind was almost acceptable. All in all we had a super time. Thanks everyone for coming and also I send a special thanks for the many gifts plus donations to our food table. These extras were not necessary, but each was most appreciated. TUESDAY, after shopping for a few items, I spent most of the day digging out previous files to begin putting my seminars together for FMCA. ![]()
WEDNESDAY, John and I joined Bonnie and Doug for a trip to Mexico. Bonnie had a minor adjustment to her dental bridge and I decided to spend my first place winnings at the hair dresser with a pedicure, manicure that included artistic designs plus a haircut. Because my appointment took longer than expected the four of us parted ways. John and I had additional errands to run in Weslaco so to save time we dined at Subway rather than eat in Mexico this week. By THURSDAY & FRIDAY I hibernated ? but I made big progress on establishing my seminar outlines plus handouts I will use. Now the only problem is the amount of work I have to put together to add the final touches to my previous seminar files as well as the actual PPT presentations before the 16th Jan. We didn?t even take part on the parks pre-Christmas church services on these two days. The chains attaching me to my computer were restraining me too tight. ![]()
My contribution of whipped rutabagas & whipped carrots for the dinner also had to be cooked the day before I needed them. So I did break away for a few hours to prepare Christmas Day food but otherwise my little Gateway PC ruled my life one more day. ![]()

FINAL THOUGHTS
As 2010 winds down, things are looking up for us. Hope they are for all of you too. Our immediate plans are to leave here 1 March and slowly head to the High School in Perry, Georgia to meet other Freightliner Chapter Members so we can caravan into the Convention ? parking together adds to the camaraderie. I also plan to update a complete rewrite of RV Travel To Canada 2011 before we leave in March. Government departments are notorious for changing websites and phone numbers for no other reason than just because. The info in that e-book is accurate for the most part, except for links and phone numbers. Timing will be tight but I will try to get it out. Must go for now. Have a ball on New Years Eve ? we are going to the park dance. May everyone have a super 2011. Best to each of you! If you are driving may the roads be dry and the snow stay off in the distance someplace. Take care all P&J

Q? Anne asked for advice on CLEANING HER DAY/NIGHT SHADES. The one by her table had some food spots on it. I suggested she contact the Expert ? Mary Moppins of Go clean.com. This talented lady offers a plethora of tips in this story at http://www.rvliving.net/CleaningTips.htm – as well as her website. Mary can help everyone.
A recent follow-up from Anne verified this fact ? She finally got around to getting the window shades cleaned by using the suggested pet eraser ? it did a grand job. For the most stubborn stains she ?shampooed? with a “Q” tip and then gently blotted with a damp cloth. Stains are all gone.

Bill F relayed there is a new PET FOOD RECALL that affects over 19 states of foods sold at Kroger?s. Several brands are affected and the concern highlights there?s a fungal toxin that may be very dangerous. For more info about the recalled Kroger foods and the specific toxin – go to this site? http://www.petplace.com/health-alerts-p … page1.aspx .
Symptoms of toxicity from the above food may include vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite and jaundice (a yellow color to the skin {easier to see on the inner ears or the white of the eye}).
