Yes I travel alone. Yes I stay in Walmart lots and truck stops and as long as other camping vehicles are around I don’t worry. Yes I’m comfortable living in my own skin, despite the fact that it has become somewhat dalmatian-ish and noticeably sharpei-ish, so I don’t feel the least bit claustrophobic living in a ten-foot truck camper for months at a time, but my blueprint for a happy retirement is that the minute I get to where I’m going I get involved, That’s how I ended up having a fantastic weekend with the Good Sam Rollin’ Singles who came rollin’ into the Golden Village Palm Resort in Hemet, California last winter.

As soon as I heard the word “single” at the Friday afternoon wine and cheese Meet-and-Greet I introduced myself to the President, Gail Garland, as a solo RVer from Surrey, British Columbia and was invited to join in on their activities for the weekend.
